Didymos has been weaving the classic Indio pattern for decades. It is available in practically every color and natural fiber combination imaginable.

This particular Indio is a linen blend, and one of the thinnest Indios I’ve tried. It was similar in thickness and wrapping qualities to the thin Kiesel linen I had. Both were shockingly thin, breathable, airy, and light.

The linen content adds support, and also contributes to “digging” on the shoulders in a poor wrap job. Since I’m not an expert wrapper, this was not the most comfortable wrap for me. With a bit more skill and patience at wrapping, it could be comfortable in a multi-layer wrap job with a heavier child. I would definitely enjoy it with a newborn. It would not be my choice for a toddler-worthy wrap, although I’ve seen more skilled wrappers enjoy using it with toddlers.

The color, like many Indios, is incredibly hard to capture with a camera. The threads are a medium shade of plum purple – not nearly as dark as my skirt in the photos, and turquoise blue. In some light, it has a sheen or shimmer to it. In other light, it appears quite dull and plain. From a few feet away, it appeared periwinkle to me. I expected the color to be more vibrant, similar to Kobalt-Rouge Indio, but it is more of a soft and mild color. Not pastel, but not vibrant.

I was hoping to convert it to a ring sling, but decided against it because of the thinness. I didn’t think it would be as comfortable in a ring sling as a slightly thicker Indio, or a hemp blend Indio for that matter.

It was airy, light, breathable, and ideal for hot weather.
